Thank you for welcoming change and supporting environmental sustainability.
These retailers have pledged to participate in Michelle’s Earth Day Challenge and will not be handing out new single use plastic shopping bags on Earth Day. Please show your support for these participants and for the youth of our community by bringing your own bag to carry your purchases in on Thursday, April 22, 2010. Please remember to… “Bring Your Own Bag”
* I would have loved to continue the Earth Day Challenge, however, I am currently at University in Southern Ontario!
2nd Annual Earth Day Challenge: 2009

“I challenge all of Dryden’s retail stores to not distribute any single use plastic shopping bags on Earth Day. I realize that it is only one day but it will make a difference; we will all see how easy it is to bring and use our own bags when we go shopping. It will be great practice for the day when our stores will stop distributing single use plastic shopping bags – indefinitely – because everyday should be Earth Day!”
Thank you to these incredible retail stores who accepted the Earth Day Challenge and did NOT hand out single use plastic shopping bags on Earth Day (Wednesday, April 22, 2009).
